WEDDING TIMELINE IDEAS TO KEEP YOUR DAY RUNNING SMOOTHLY

while much of your wedding day has to do with decor and attire, a well-structured timeline is also of critical importance. each event should seamlessly flow into the next, leaving a lasting impression on both you and your guests.

#aandbabe jordyn and enrique were able to create their dream wedding day by focusing on the events that meant the most to them. jordyn was so happy to have a talented vendor team that helped the day run so smoothly. “the venue owner was our coordinator, decorator and our florist. the attention to detail was impeccable!”

wedding timeline ideas

in describing their big day, it’s clear that the couple was able to fit in so many special moments because they were strategic with their timeline. to help you better understand the importance of event timing, we’re sharing some of their big wedding day moments below!

getting ready wedding morning

when and where you get ready on your wedding morning sets the tone for the whole day. brides, make sure you have a big space and give yourself plenty of time to both get ready and relax. there is nothing more stressful than rushing on your wedding day!

if you are getting photographs taken the morning of your wedding, try to find an area with ample natural light and a neutral backdrop.

jordyn gave us a little insight into their morning by explaining how she began getting ready earlier than enrique and his groomsmen. “i spent the morning at the venue with my bridesmaid, my mom and my aunt getting our hair and makeup done in the bridal suite. the boys arrived in the early afternoon to get dressed and start photos.”

first look and private vows

we know whether to have a first look or not is always a hot debate, but when it comes to the timeline, usually a first look helps!

at the first look, couples can get many of their wedding portraits knocked out so that they have more time after the ceremony to dedicate to family and friends.

oftentimes, if you’re planning a cocktail hour and want to join your guests, a first look will help you join in on the celebration sooner! whether you want to enjoy your cocktail hour, sneak away for a sweet moment together, or change for your reception, a first look will help you have time for all of the above.

jordyn shares, “we had a first look planned and we exchanged our vows to one another before our first look and it was the best decision of the day”.

for jordyn and enrique, a first look paired with private vows was one of the most intimate moments of their wedding day. “it made those vows so much more special and personal to only us + it made the first look that much more emotional!”

outdoor wedding ceremony

before their wedding ceremony began, jordyn and enrique took wedding photos with immediate family that arrived just a little ahead of time. after taking those family photos, it was time for their outdoor ceremony to start.

jordyn explains some of the meaningful touches their ceremony included. “we had our ceremony outdoors in a shaded meadow. it was officiated by one of our friends from school. our dog even walked down the aisle and was seated in front of our best man, right behind my husband”

charming cocktail hour

your cocktail hour sets the tone for celebration and provides an opportunity for guests to mingle!

as guests were entertained at cocktail hour, jordyn and enrique signed their marriage certificate. jordyn was also able to bustle her alexandra grecco wedding dress during this time, so she could enter their reception with ease.

grand reception entrance

to kick off the reception, jordyn and enrique were introduced as mr. and mrs. hernandez.

after their grand entrance, the newlyweds took to the dance floor and their family and friends followed. “our reception was so much fun with all of our closest friends and family, dancing the night away!”
